How will Music help my child?
Foundations private lessons are designed to give students a jump start into the music world. Students will benefit from the many side effects of music including:

• Better understanding of academics such as math
• Development of fine motor skills
• Development of cognitive abilities

Jason Story, Instructor
I have been teaching music for 2 years. Before coming to Foundations, I was Director of Genesis Percussion Ensemble at Mount Paran Christian School. Under my direction, Genesis consistently ranked in the top three at competitions and was named Grand Champions of Novice class at the Southern Association for Performing Arts Championships.

I started playing percussion when I was in Sixth grade. I was in my school band every year until I graduated. My senior year, my high school band was ranked seventh in the country at the Bands of America Championships Indianapolis. After High school, I participated in the Kennesaw State University Wind Ensemble under the Direction of Dr. Alexander who also is the Director of the Cobb Symphony Orchestra.

Lessons
Private music lessons are taught as a mixture of basic music and the principle instrument chosen. Private lessons give students the satisfaction of utilizing new information from the music class half of the program on their instrument of choice immediately. The students get to see their progress every time they pick up the instrument. Instruction can be arranged for students 4 years old and up.

Lessons do not stop when the child leaves the classroom. Students are encouraged to take what they have learned, and to build upon that information at home. Students will also take home information for their parents on a regular basis to ensure that parents are updated on what their child has learned. Furthermore, if parents wish to communicate with the instructor at any time, appointments can be arranged for meetings. Also, E-mail is strongly encouraged for any questions that might arise.

Sessions
Children will have 1 hour lessons once a week. The lessons will be one on one with the Instructor.

Price
Cost is $20.00 per lesson with a month long commitment
Registration is $15.00 per child
